Rotary Middleton has been working hard since November to get the local community into the festive spirit, and its efforts have paid off as the humanitarian group has raised over £7,000 for local causes.
The festivities began by helping the Middleton Shopping Centre, which saw Santa Claus set up a grotto to meet the town’s boys and girls. Even his reindeer flew into Middleton Gardens for a quick visit before a busy Christmas, sponsored by S Wellens and Sons.
Rotary Middleton also accompanied Santa on a tour of Middleton with a Christmas float in early December, meeting more local children and bring some cheer to everyone. They were joined by Hopwood DePree, who is restoring the Grade-II* listed Hopwood Hall Estate in Middleton, and some of the hall’s Friends group.
